About the project: Built with a team of 2 including myself. The project started as a conceptual take on AR gaming but is now a full app in development with an MVP planned to launch at the end of February 2020.

The Concept Behind the Game: The goal of D-Stack was to create a tower destruction game that has enough friction to keep a user engaged and allow them to interact with their surroundings. We explored the use of successful game mediums out there to expand our creativity. We found that Jenga's concept would fit our concept of destruction and balance from a physical standpoint but we were still limited in how far we can creatively expand our game. We explored further into other games that involved stacking similar objects to destroy a tower or shape and this is where Tetris came to mind. Manipulating both Jenga's concept of tower stability and Tetris's ability to remove matching block pieces was the perfect recipe. Users would have to move around the tower and look for matching pieces and think twice before selecting them since the ultimate goal is to keep the tower standing with the least amount of pieces possible.
